In one sentence: Role, context, task, constraints and format: with these five elements, a vague answer becomes a usable text.
The five elements of a good request
An AI guesses nothing: the more precise the request, the more usable the answer. These five elements fit in a few lines and work with every assistant, including tools hosted in Switzerland.
- The roleWho the AI should be: an accounting firm’s assistant, a writer, a careful lawyer.
- The contextWhat it cannot guess: the client, the history, the situation.
- The taskA verb and a result: write, summarise, compare, sort.
- The constraintsWhat you want and what you do not: the tone, the length, how formal to be.
- The formatThe shape of the result: an e-mail subject then the text, a table, a list.
